This build was for a request to recreate the Calabasas house from the movie “A Star is Born”. Layout and design is based on real estate photos of the same house, designed by mid-century style architect Douglas Rucker. The Sims version of this home is situated in a woody lot in the canyons of Oasis Springs, a perfect sancuary for your celebrity Sims and their family.
This lot was a challenge for me, particularly the terrain edits for the outdoor space. It’s not an exact representation but I hope I caught the spirit of it. It’s also a “false” split-level, but the Sims didn’t seem to mind. See below the cut for more info on how this looks.

Bowling Night Addons (Domo Arigato sideboard)
I tried to do this with minimal or no CC but for this build, I didn’t want to limit myself too much. The windows and doors are necessary but much of the CC clutter and furniture, which is still used sparingly, can be replaced with your fave game objects. It’s still maxis-match and gameplay friendly, fully tested with a Sims family for 3 sim days.
False Split Level
I love the multi level foundations that were made available in the pre-Get Famous patch. You still can’t make split level homes on the same foundation though. To achieve the split level look, these are technically two different buildings, with a partition blocked off by fences as you can’t build connecting walls. The Sims travel through a small courtyard which also leads to a patio area that has a hot tub (if you have Perfect Patio)
