You’ll see a lot of small quarters in my world. The idea (hopefully) is to get the Sims out and interacting with the rest of the world, not spending their lives hanging out in big lots that have everything they need.  I do have big lots in this world, but you’ll notice the focus is on “small”.

Note about Trinity Valley:   Trinity Valley is a neighbourhood in Auberon consisting of many small, narrow lots, about 10×20.   Most are 2 bedroom, one bathroom, no laundry and no parking.  This is all done for aesthetics, but in  testing, it is playable for starter or retirement homes.

I built Auberon for my particular style of play and aesthetics, but I spent a lot of time trying to make the world playable for anyone who may want to give this a try.

There should be enough community lots to entertain sims of all ages.  Auberon is a city full of parks, cafes and nightlife.

 Population

Auberon comes with a base population of 46 playable sims in 18 households.  They consist of small to large families of all types, each with their own unique stories.  Feel free to build on their stories, or evict them all if they’re not your thing.

There is no custom or store content on the included Sims.

NPCs:  Gerard Valentino (police), Renata Valentino (social worker) , Olivia Valentino (babysitter) and Oliver Valentino (newspaper delivery) are donated by Alma70. Thank you! :)

Weather

Auberon uses custom weather ini files based on Bridgeport and custom colour ramps.

There are a lot of cloudy, dreary days in Auberon.  You won’t find bright and colourful here, unfortunately.

Colour ramps have been edited for a darker night sky.

There seems to be very few sunny days in Auberon

Colour ramps have been edited to slightly desaturate sea and sky colours or add slight sepia tones

Technical Notes:

You may encounter lag when you first start up this world as the game begins to populate the city with NPCs and neighbours.
This world may not be perfect and there may be some incidences of weirdness I’ve yet to catch. Let me know if you find something that makes the game unplayable for you.   Thank you.

  1. This is a pretty stellar world! Love the balance of city
and suburb… you really made it feel like a true city. I did
notice that a road in front of the Pelham Hotel doesn’t have a
terminating intersection. Was this on purpose?

    1. Hi and thank you! I wanted something between downtown and suburban, but there is so much I would have liked to have added. As for the roads, the one right in front of Pelham Hotel isn’t the only road that does that. There are a few points that end like that or stop at a lot. It’s not ideal for me, but I noticed some EA worlds have roads like that, so I’m hoping it doesn’t cause too many routing issues.

  2. I’m so excited to be able to play my Sims in Auberon! Thank you so much for creating such a beautiful world and sharing it with us all. :)

  3. When checking this world file with the custard tool I found that there is one custom content attached, it looks like a hair file name 0x7d7b9301d90a0104e7cf1fd9a46f9f5e.package I am still gonna give this world a try but just wanted you to know about the cc hair that is attached to this file today. Thanks and I will try and give feedback after I play here a bit.

    1. Hi and thank you!

Someone’s already mentioned it to me. I’ve cleared my cache, re-exported and tested and should have a CC-free upload by this weekend. The hair is a Cazy retexture (if anyone is curious about what will show up in their launcher)

Thank you so much and yes, any feedback is appreciated. :) I’ll also post a list of “known issues” as well. Nothing major, just hope it doesn’t explode anyone’s game. >_<

  4. Downloaded it last night, so curious to what new stuff I’ll find when I try it out this weekend. Loved the beta 5 version so this must be even better with added lots and sims (not counting mine)! =)

    1. I’m so glad! Thank you again for the Valentino’s. I’ve never imported NPCs into my games before so I hope I managed to keep the family ties. It’s such a good idea!

  5. I just wanted to let you know how much I’m loving Auberon! I’ve played in it a few times now, and I’m just loving it more and more each time. I especially love how each area of the city has basically everything the Sims need, so that they don’t have to travel across the city to get to a gym or a park or whatever. Thank you again for sharing it! You really did an amazing job building it. :)

  6. Wow, I’d never bothered to look too closely at this before because I figured it would require Supernatural. But yay, it doesn’t, so I’m going to download it and have a play! Thanks for sharing it – you did an awesome job with this world!

    1. Yep, I made a conscious decision to not expand my game beyond the EPs I already have until I released this world. I’d like to get supernatural and update the world for then, but that’s later.

I’d be so honoured if you played Auberon. Thank you very much! ^_^

  7. Your city looks amazing! I was so excited to try it out. I even completely cleaned out my CC to make room for it, but when I tried opening the file from box it wouldn’t open. I even tried it on another computer and with another browser. Is this just me? Is there any chance you could host it through a different site or something? If so, I would love to play it!

    1. Hi! Sorry about the download link. I’m hoping I can fix it today. Unfortunately my city has been hit with a bad ice storm and we’ve had no power for the past day. I am still having internet issues. (i’m replying on my phone right now) I’m very sorry and I will have a new link for you as soon as I am able. Thanks for letting me know.

    1. Hi Somu, sorry I thought I replied already. >_< I'm sorry about the link. (see my reply to Lauren). I just uploaded it to Mediafire. The link is in the post!

  8. the world look good i have been searching for a world like this, i just wish it was bigger thou. Anyway good work :) are you going to do anymore work on this world?

    1. Hi Blue and thank you, I’m glad you like it. I would like to do a little more work on it… some lots need serious improvement and also I’ll probably add more depending on the future EPs I install. Let me know if you think it’s missing anything, I’m open to suggestions.

    1. I’m really sorry, I haven’t seen this comment until today. I’m uploading a version onto Mediafire. I’ll update this page with a link.
